  • For starters, we are located off of Main Street, Altavista, yet when you pull back onto Avoca Lane, you’d think you were out in the Victorian countryside. The spacious tree-adorned lawn with the gorgeous wrap-around porch on the house speaks elegance and a private, secluded feel!

  • Reserve your date with a signed contract and pay $500 security deposit and 50% down holds your special day.

  • Your Pre-Wedding Meeting at Avoca is when you will choose your reception table layout, and ceremony chair layout, let us know details about your vendors, pay your balance, give us your timeline, etc. This meeting is on or before 16 days prior to your rental start date!

  • The refundable $500 security deposit is returned within 10 days of your event provided there is no damage, and the property was left according to the contract specifications.

  • This is not required, but we highly recommend hiring a wedding coordinator. A wedding coordinator can make sure your event runs smoothly and as stress-free as possible!

  • We have 130 Premier Event folding chairs with 12 six ft rectangle tables & 8 card tables, 6 high-top tables, 1 eight ft. table, and 12 six ft. round tables that we set up according to your chosen table layout. We do all set-up & take-down of inside & outside tables and chairs for you.

  • You choose your own favorite vendors! Our “Local Vendors List” includes our “Dream Team” of favorite vendors and many others that we recommend.

  • Avoca has a large Bridal Suite for the Bride and Bridesmaids to get ready and the Groom’s Log cabin for the guys, both climate-controlled.

  • Indoor, we have large men’s and women’s restrooms, both ADA accessible, as well as a single bathroom for the caterers.

  • We do not currently have an indoor/outdoor speakers.

  • Yes, we permit alcohol to be served & consumed responsibly. We do recommend that the service of alcohol is included (“Host Liquor Liability”) in a one-day event liability policy. ABC license is required if you will be selling alcohol at your event, i.e. cash bar.

  • These are the amenities available…

    • Beautiful climate-controlled facilities.

    • We have 200 Premier Event folding chairs with and 12 six ft rectangle table & 8 card tables, 6 high-top tables, 1 eight ft. table, and 12 six ft. round tables that we set up according to your chosen table layout.

    • We do all set-up & take-down of inside & outside tables and chairs for you.

    • Large indoor ADA-accessible bathrooms.

    • Catering Area which includes a fridge, large sink, microwave and prep table. This room has its own entrance from the outside which makes it easy for the caterers to load & unload food and supplies.

    • Four popular ceremony locations: Garden facing Ceremony, Patio Ceremony or Facing house Ceremony, and the Three Oak Ceremony. A white podium is yours to use at no additional cost.

    • Beautiful outdoor photo-ops ~ Huge mature trees, gazebo, arboretum, Victorian garden, sunsets, wrap-around porch and porch swing etc.

    • Ample Onsite Parking, either in the parking field or gravel parking area.

    • Assistance with your table layout plan (how the tables will be physically arranged in the room). You choose the layout during the Pre-Wedding Meeting. We will have the tables and chairs set up for you when you arrive! We handle all set up and take down of tables & chairs inside & out.

    • Avoca’s Team Member onsite during your entire event to gladly help with questions or building needs.

    • The restrooms are fully stocked.

    • Bagged trash removal is included.
